The CRNA administers any number of agents to either relieve pain and/or make patients unconscious for surg! ical or diagnostic procedures. Administration of anesthesia may be intravenous, inhalation, intramuscular or regional techniques (spinal epidural or other blocks). During the administration of anesthesia, the CRNA closely monitors the patient’s response by monitoring temperature,pulse,blood pressure,heart rate and respiration.
REQUIREMENTS:
Graduate of an approved nursing and an accredited School of Anesthesia for Nurses. Experience preferred but not required. Certified by AANA after graduating from an approved school of anesthesia for nurses and passing the certification exam. Recertified by Council for Recertification by obtaining 40 containing Maintain a current license in South Carolina and privileges as an advanced practice nurse.BCLS required, ACLS required, PALS preferred. Competent to provide anesthesia to all age’s groups.
