The WJB Dorn Veterans Affairs Medical Center (VAMC) located in Columbia, SC is seeking a board certified/board eligible Anesthesiologist to work in our Anesthesia Service.

Call is every forth night and one weekend a month. Holidays are divided evenly among the anesthesia staff.

Staff anesthesiologist will perform 60% -70% of own cases and 30-40% CRNA supervision. BCLS and ACLS are required.

Salary Range: Up to $295,000 per year

Required Skills:QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:
Citizenship: Citizen of the United States. Noncitizens may be appointed when it is not possible to recruit qualified citizens.

Licensure and Registration: Current, full, active, and unrestricted license to practice medicine or surgery in a State, Territory or Commonwealth (i.e., Puerto Rico) of the United States, or the District of Columbia. The physician must maintain current registration in the State of licensure if this is a requirement for continuing active, current licensure.

Education: Degree of doctor of medicine or an equivalent degree resulting from a course of education in medicine or osteopathic medicine. The degree must have been obtained from one of the schools approved by the Secretary of Veterans Affairs for the year in which the course of study was completed.

Approved schools are: Schools of medicine holding regular institutional membership ! in the Association of American Medical Colleges for the year in which the degree was granted. Schools of osteopathic medicine approved by the American Osteopathic Association for the year in which the degree was granted. Schools (including foreign schools) accepted by the licensing body of a State, Territory, or Commonwealth (i.e., Puerto Rico), or in the District of Columbia as qualifying for full or unrestricted licensure.

For residents, graduation from an approved medical school as described above is required except as provided in M-8, part II, chapter 1. *** If you are using foreign education to meet qualification requirements, you must send a Certificate of Foreign Equivalency with your transcript in order to receive credit for that education.
