The surgical technologist is a member of the surgical team who works closely with the surgeon, anesthesiologist, nurse anesthetist, registered nurse in delivery of patient care pre-operativ ely, intra-operatively and post-operatively. The job duties and requirements include mentoring, training and national certification is a requirement. Acts in accordance with the policies, procedures and standards as prescribed by the Governing Board, Hospital Administration and Patient Care Services of Beaufort Memorial Hospital. Minimum Requirements EDUCATION High school graduate or equivalent preferred .Formal course in OR Technology Required.
Certification in Surgical Technology required. Completion of hospital preceptorship program required. EXPERIENCE 2 + years experience as a Surgical Technologist in a surgical setting. CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSES Certification in Surgical Technology by a national agency required.
BLS required prior to first clinical shift (must be issued by the American Heart Association).
