SUMMARY:
Assists surgeon during operative and invasive procedures. Ensures operating suite is adequately prepared for the procedures. Ensures all instruments are cleaned and sterilized and functioning properly. Assists anesthesiologist when blocks are required for surgery. Participates in department staff meetings and performance improvement activities.

Minimum Education: Some college or vocational training required.
Minimum Experience: Up to 1 year of experience is required; 1 to 2 years of job-related experience is preferred.
Required Certifications/Registrations/Licenses: ORT and BCLS. Experienced scrub techs must be certified, new graduates must become certified during their 90 day probation period. BLS required upon hire.
