Who We Are
The NARM Training Institute is a social enterprise with a vision of bringing humanity to the healing of complex trauma. The Institute’s primary work is offering advanced professional training for mental health and other helping professionals in the
NeuroAffective Relational Model (NARM).

NARM is a therapeutic model which addresses attachment, relational, developmental, cultural and intergenerational trauma – collectively known as Complex Trauma. The
NARM Training Institute is positioned to make growing contributions to the
Trauma-Informed field.

The Role
We provide high quality professional trainings for mental health and other helping professionals. We are seeking a well-organized, hard-working, responsive and conscientious person experienced with the Zoom platform.

Our trainings consist of 3-4 modules, with each module taking place over 3-5 days.
The ideal candidate is someone who can commit long term and work at least 8 weekends within the calendar year for NARM trainings. See our 2023 and 2024 training schedule below.

You will serve as our Zoom host, admit attendees, configure manual and preassigned rooms, and respond to attendees by referring them to the appropriate Institute representatives.

QUALIFICATIONS
Basic Requirements
● Must be based in the United States
● A strong and stable internet connection
● An up-to date and proficient computer and audio/camera equipment
● A commitment of at least 8 training weekends of your choice (see schedule below)

● Familiarity with Google Workspace

Responsibilities
Before the Training
● Learn about our training format
● Review Zoom Moderation Guidelines and Training Resource document before each training and promptly ask questions, as early as possible
● Obtain moderation specs via email the day before the start of the training
● Arrive at the scheduled time - one hour before the training time, unless otherwise specified by the lead trainer

During the Training
● Be present and attentive the entire training session
● Be flexible
-Responsive to any adjustments in the timeline
-Quickly create new set ups in Zoom as needed
-Respond in the moment to any last-minute adjustments / changes or attendance updates
● Receive attendance notifications from participants and communicate them to
Training Assistants when applicable to breakout groups
● Respond to Signal app chats - communicate with the Lead Trainer, Training
Assistants and team as needed throughout the training
● Technical Tasks:

  • Configure meeting settings
  • Set up Zoom meeting rooms manually
  • Monitor the Zoom chat
  • Configure manual and preassigned rooms
  • Manage time in groups and send reminders
  • Type up prompts
  • Direct participant questions to the appropriate person
  • Direct internal questions appropriately (e.g. questions about moderator role, etc.)
  • Troubleshoot any Zoom related issues

Success Looks Like
● Keeping communication relevant to the role of a moderator, not as a training participant
● Being prompt
● Responding in a timely manner in the Zoom chat and in our Signal app chats
● Respecting that the moderator role is not participatory and does not share reflections and assessment about the content

The right candidate will be available for at least 8 weekends to work over the training modules listed below.

  • Module 2: March 8 - 10, 2024
  • Module 3: April 12 - 14, 2024
  • Module 4: May 3 - 5, 2024

● Level 2 Spring 2023 - 9:00 am - 4:30 pm Pacific Time each day

  • Module 3: July 27 – 30, 2023
  • Module 3: Friday, September 8, 2023
  • Module 4: November 15 – 19, 2023

● Level 2 Summer 2023 - 9:00 am – 4:30 pm Pacific Time each day.
